Luxury beauty retailer Bluemercury is expected to open its first Fort Worth location at WestBend in March, near Drybar and Woodhouse Day Spa.

The 2,300-square-foot store will carry cosmetics, skin care, makeup and perfume, along with other hair, bath and body products.

“Opening in WestBend was the obvious choice for us as the client is incredibly chic and on-trend,” Bluemercury COO and co-founder Barry Beck said in a statement. “With our latest Bluemercury store, our eighth in Texas, we will bring luxury beauty products to the doorstep of the superwomen of Fort Worth.”

WestBend is located at University Drive and River Run. Developer Trademark Property Company is planning Phase II of the project, which will expand the property south on an adjacent 3.5-acre tract. According to a news release, conceptual planning is underway for additional retail space, a hotel and multifamily units. WestBend will span 670,000 square feet at full build-out.

“We are creating a unique collection of stores and restaurants at the property for both our guests and office tenants, which have been fully leased [Trademark reports WestBend’s 190,203 square feet of office space is occupied],” Trademark Property CEO Terry Montesi said in a statement. “The coming months will be exciting as the local community gets to experience everything new WestBend has to offer.”

Selfies and shares abound with the latest wave of public art at WestBend, Trademark Property Co.’s University District mixed-use development. Twelve new works splashed across the property expand its already impressive public art program, bringing added color, character and a unique spirit to the property.

The new works showcase a variety of style and medium by both local and national artists, including 10 murals by Dallas-based artist Kyle Steed, a site-specific “love” sculpture by San Francisco artist Laura Kimpton, and a mural by local artist Lauren Childs. These join prior works by local artist Devon Nowlin and a rotating photography exhibit from the Amon Carter Museum of American Art.

To celebrate its public art program, WestBend will host a #WestBendLove Snap & Seek with artists Lauren Childs, Devon Nowlin, and an Instagram takeover by Kyle Steed. The first 50 guests to check in will receive a free swag bag illustrated by Steed. #WestBendLove will feature a Polaroid scavenger hunt, frozen treats, drinks from HG Sply Co., surprises, and the opportunity to meet the artists in attendance.
